Definition
不问 means 'to not ask about / not inquire into', and in legal/fixed contexts (e.g. 法律不问…) it means to 'let off unpunished'. Often contrasted with 问 (to ask / interrogate): 不问 simply marks that the question or consequence is deliberately skipped.
