看护 focuses on caring for the sick, elderly, or vulnerable — closer to 护理 (medical/professional nursing) than to 看 (general guarding) or 看守 (guarding, e.g. a prisoner). 护士 is the person (the nurse); 看护 is the action of nursing them.
