Definition
下机 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to get off a plane' or 'to log off/shut down a computer'. The verb 下 and object 机 can split when you insert a measure word, duration, or other modifier between them, e.g. 下了机 ('got off the plane') or 下两次机 ('logged off twice'). In aviation, 下机 is the standard term for deplaning; in computing, it refers to logging off or shutting down a system.
