Definition
不止 has two uses: a verb meaning 'not stop, incessant', and an adverb meaning 'more than' (before numbers) or 'not simply'. As an adverb it's often confused with 不仅/不光 'not only' – but 不止 stresses exceeding an amount/expectation, while 不仅/不光 adds items (often with 还/而且). As a verb it's similar to 不已 (more literary) and 没完没了 (more colloquial).
