Definition
且 (qiě) is a formal, literary conjunction meaning 'and, moreover', used to connect clauses or in the 且…且… pattern ('both... and...' or 'while'). It is more classical than 而 (ér) and more formal than 并且 (bìngqiě). Unlike 况且 (kuàngqiě), which adds a reason, 且 simply adds information.
