Definition

世界 (shìjiè) is the everyday 'world' — the whole planet, or one's own life/circle. It is concrete and countable with 个, unlike the more abstract or literary 世间 ('the human/mortal world') and 天地 ('heaven and earth'; also one's sphere of activity).
