Definition
主体 (zhǔtǐ) means the main body or main part of a structure, text, or organization, and also the subject/principal agent in law or philosophy (the entity that acts). It is broader than 重心 (zhòngxīn) 'core/focus,' which points to just the central point; and opposite to 代理人 (dàilǐrén)/中介 (zhōngjiè) 'representative/intermediary,' which act on behalf of the 主体.
