人物 (rén wù) refers to a person or figure, often one of importance, or a character in literature/film. Unlike 名人 (míng rén, 'celebrity'), 人物 emphasizes the role or standing of the person rather than fame; 形象 (xíng xiàng) is the external image or public persona, not the person themself.
