Definition
人称 is a noun with two main uses. In grammar, it refers to 'person' as in 第一人称 (first person), 第二人称 (second person), and 第三人称 (third person). Outside grammar, it can mean an 'appellation' or 'name by which someone is known,' similar to a title or nickname. The context (especially when paired with 第一/第二/第三) tells you which sense is intended.
