Definition
介入 (jiè rù) is a formal verb for actively stepping into a situation, conflict, or matter — it's neutral, unlike 插手 (chā shǒu) which implies unwelcome meddling, or 干预 (gān yù) which can also mean 'interfere'. It differs from 卷入 (juǎn rù), which describes being passively drawn into a negative event. Use 介入 for official, neutral interventions.
