Definition
以来 (yǐ lái) is a noun meaning 'since (a point in time)'. It always follows a time or event to indicate a period from then until now, and is often used together with 自, 从, or 自从 (e.g., 自从...以来). Unlike 自 and 自从, which are prepositions that can stand alone before a time, 以来 must be attached after the starting point.
