Definition
供电 (gōng diàn) is a verb-object separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to supply electricity' or 'to provide power'. The verb 供 (to supply) and the object 电 (electricity) can be split when inserting aspect markers, measure words, or complements: 供了电 (supplied electricity), 供不上电 (cannot supply electricity). When saying 'supply electricity to someone', use 给…供电.
