Definition
俘获 (fú huò) has two senses: literally 'to capture (enemy personnel/property)' and figuratively 'to captivate (hearts, attention)'. Unlike 俘虏 (fú lǔ), which specifically means taking prisoners (and can be a noun), 俘获 is broader and can be abstract. Compared to 捕获 (bǔ huò), which implies hunting/seizing after pursuit (animals/criminals), 俘获 suggests military or romantic conquest.
