Definition
光 (guāng) has three distinct uses: as a noun it means 'light' — more general than 光线 (a ray of light) and 光芒 (radiant beams), and less abstract than 光明 (brightness, also 'bright future'). As an adjective complement it means 'used up, all gone', stronger than 穷 (poor, depleted of money) and similar to 尽 (exhausted). As an adverb it means 'only, merely'.
