Definition
入门 (rù mén) means 'to get started' or 'an introduction' to a subject — it focuses on the very first stage of learning. Unlike 介绍 (jiè shào), which is about introducing people or things, and 入口 (rù kǒu), which is a physical entrance, 入门 is about entering a field of knowledge. It's more concrete than 概论 (gài lùn, a general survey) and less about early education than 启蒙 (qǐ méng, enlightening).
