Definition
兵马俑 refers to the life-sized terracotta figures of warriors and horses buried with Emperor Qin Shihuang (259–210 BCE) to protect him in the afterlife. The site near Xi'an is one of China's most famous archaeological discoveries and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can visit the museum to see thousands of these figures arranged in battle formation.
