Definition
其中 (qí zhōng) is a noun used after a set has been introduced, meaning 'among them / of these / in which.' Unlike 中 (zhōng), which is more general and appears in patterns like 在...中, 其中 specifically refers back to the group just mentioned. 之中 (zhī zhōng) is its literary equivalent, used in formal written Chinese.
