Definition
出差 (chū chāi) specifically means to go on a business trip for work, often involving travel away from home. It is more specific than 外出 (wài chū, 'to go out' for any purpose) and 出行 (chū xíng, a general/formal term for 'to go on a trip'). Note that 出差 is a separable verb: you can say 出过两次差 (have been on two business trips).
