Definition
刁难 (diāo nàn) means 'to deliberately make things difficult for someone' and carries a stronger sense of malicious or unfair intent than 为难 (wéi nán), which can simply mean 'to put someone in a bind' without implying ill will. Unlike 为难, 刁难 is only a verb and cannot describe one's own awkward feeling.
