分家 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning to divide up family property so adult siblings live apart, usually after parents have passed away. When you add a measure word, duration, or object, the verb 分 splits from the object 家: e.g., 分了家 (divided the property), 分过一次家 (divided it once). You cannot insert anything after the full word 分家; splitting is mandatory for such additions.
