Definition
分歧 (fēn qí) specifically means a difference of opinion, disagreement, or divergence in views — it is used when people's ideas or positions conflict. Unlike 区别/差别/差异, which refer to any kind of difference or distinction (in quality, quantity, etc.), 分歧 is limited to abstract conflicts in thought or opinion. 岔 (chà) is unrelated: it means a physical fork in a road or to branch off.
