Definition
务工 (wù gōng) specifically describes rural people working as manual laborers in cities, often implying they have moved away from home. Unlike 打工 (dǎ gōng), which is usually temporary or part-time, or 干活儿 (gàn huór), which just means doing physical work, 务工 carries the sense of relocating for labor work.
