Definition
勤奋 (qínfèn) describes a consistent, diligent character in study or work — it's an adjective, unlike 努力 (nǔlì) which can also be a verb. Compared to 勤劳 (qínláo, often for physical labor), 勤奋 is more about steady effort in any context. It is more formal than 勤快 (qínkuai, everyday speech).
