历险 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to experience adventures' or 'to have a narrow escape'. The verb 历 and the object 险 can split when you insert a measure word, duration, or other element, e.g., 历了一次险 ('had an adventure once'). You can also use it as a compound verb without splitting, e.g., 去历险 ('go on an adventure').
