Definition
去世 (qùshì) is the most common neutral euphemism for 'to pass away' in everyday Chinese, suitable for ordinary people and situations. It is less formal than 逝世 (shìshì, for respected public figures) and less clinical than 死亡 (sǐwáng, 'death' as a biological fact).
