Definition
口吻 has two broad sense clusters: literally referring to the muzzle or snout of an animal (e.g., a dog or horse), and figuratively referring to the tone, note, or attitude revealed in someone's speech. The word does not mean 'lips' for humans — that is 嘴唇 (zuǐchún). The figurative use is very common in both spoken and written Chinese.
