Definition
口语 (kǒuyǔ) means 'spoken language' — the everyday speech you use in conversation, as opposed to written language. A 俗语 (súyǔ) is a fixed, traditional saying or proverb, not general spoken language. 口语 can also mean 'gossip, slander' in literary Chinese, but this sense is rare and unrelated to the main meaning.
