Definition
叫醒 is a resultative verb compound (V + result complement): 叫 'to call/shout' + 醒 'to wake up'. It means 'to wake someone up by calling'. You can insert 得 or 不 between the two characters to express possibility: 叫得醒 (can be woken up), 叫不醒 (cannot be woken up). It is transitive — the person being woken is the direct object: 叫醒他.
