Definition
召集 (zhào jí) means 'to call together' or 'convene' — it emphasizes the act of summoning people to a specific place, often by an authority figure. Unlike 召开 (zhào kāi), which is used only for formal meetings or conferences, 召集 can apply to any group of people. It also differs from 集合 (jí hé) and 聚集 (jù jí), which focus on the gathering itself rather than the act of calling.
