各 (gè) emphasizes each individual member of a group, often highlighting their separateness or differences (e.g., 各国 'each country'). 每 (měi) focuses on every member without exception, often used with measure words (e.g., 每天 'every day'). Unlike 每, 各 can also be used as an adverb before a verb to mean 'each separately' (e.g., 各有 'each has').
