Definition
呼噜 is an onomatopoeia for a low, rumbling sound — most commonly the sound of snoring (打呼噜) or a cat's purr (猫发出呼噜声). As an onomatopoeia, it often appears after the verb 打 (to make the sound) or as a noun modifying a verb. You can also use it on its own to imitate the noise.
