Definition
商讨 (shāngtǎo) means 'to discuss, to deliberate' and is used for formal, often business or diplomatic, discussions where decisions are being negotiated. It is more formal than 讨论 (tǎolùn, everyday talk) and 商量 (shāngliang, casual chat), and less formal than 磋商 (cuōshāng, official/diplomatic).
