Definition
回家 means 'to go home' or 'to return home', and it's a separable verb (离合词): the object 家 can separate from 回 when inserting aspect markers (了, 过), measure words (一次, 一趟), or other modifiers. For example, 'I went back home once' is 我回了一次家, not 我回家了一次.
