回避 (huí bì) means to avoid someone, an issue, or a situation, often deliberately and in formal/legal contexts (e.g., a judge recusing). It is more neutral than 躲避 (duǒ bì, hiding from danger) and 逃避 (táo bì, escaping responsibility). 避让 (bì ràng) is yielding to avoid conflict; 嫌弃 (xián qì) implies disdain.
