Definition
坦然 describes being calm and unperturbed because of a clear conscience or frankness — you are at ease with your actions or words, often when admitting faults or facing criticism. This differs from 镇定/镇静 (keeping cool in a crisis) and 沉着 (steady composure under pressure). 冷静 is more about a cool-headed, unemotional state.
