Definition
城墙 (chéng qiáng) refers specifically to the defensive wall surrounding a city or town, typically historical. It differs from 城 (chéng), which can mean 'city' or 'city walls' but is broader; and from 墙 (qiáng) or 墙壁 (qiáng bì), which refer to any wall, especially of a building. 围墙 (wéi qiáng) is a perimeter wall around a property, not a city.
