Definition
大头 literally means 'big head' but has several figurative uses. It can refer to the main part or bulk of something (e.g., the largest share of money or effort), a big shot or important official (colloquial), or a spendthrift/wastrel (derogatory). Historically, it also referred to a silver dollar coin minted in the early Republic with Yuan Shikai's head. Context determines which sense applies.
