失望 (shī wàng) means 'disappointed' or 'to be disappointed' — a feeling when something doesn't meet your expectations. It's less extreme than 绝望 (jué wàng, 'to despair'), which means total loss of hope, and more about the outcome than 灰心 (huī xīn, 'discouraged'), which is about losing confidence in yourself. 失望 can be used as both an adjective and a verb.
