Definition
婉转 describes two distinct qualities: (1) a voice or musical sound that is sweet, gentle, and flowing — like a nightingale's song; (2) speech or wording that is indirect, tactful, and avoids bluntness, often used when giving criticism or making a request. Unlike the closely related 委婉 (also 'tactful'), 婉转 carries a stronger aesthetic sense when applied to sound.
