Definition
婿 is a bound form (黏着语素) meaning 'son-in-law' or 'husband'. It cannot stand alone as a word; you must attach it to another morpheme, most commonly 女 (as in 女婿 'son-in-law') or 夫 (as in 夫婿 'husband'). In modern Chinese, 女婿 is the everyday word for 'son-in-law', while 夫婿 is more literary.
