嫌弃 (xián qì) means 'to disdain, shun, or look down on' someone or something because you find them beneath you or unpleasant. It's more about rejecting or avoiding due to dislike than the pure contempt of 鄙视 (bǐ shì) or the active spurning of 唾弃 (tuò qì). Unlike 避 (bì) or 回避 (huí bì), which focus on physically or strategically avoiding, 嫌弃 carries a clear emotional judgment of distaste.
