Definition
定律 (dìnglǜ) is a specific, formulated scientific law (e.g., 牛顿定律 Newton's law) or a well‑observed generalization in human affairs. It differs from 规律 (guīlǜ), which refers to the recurring pattern itself (e.g., a rhythm), and from 法则 (fǎzé), a broader abstract principle (e.g., 自然法则). 定律 has a precise, often named scope.
