Definition
实时 (shí shí) means 'real-time' — it describes processes that keep up with the current moment, like live data or video feeds. 即时 (jí shí) also means 'immediate, instant', but focuses on something happening without any delay (e.g., instant messaging). Use 实时 for ongoing synchronization, and 即时 for one-off immediate actions.
