Definition
宽厚 describes a person's character as both tolerant (宽) and kind (厚) — magnanimous without being harsh. Unlike 大方 (generous with money/poised) or 慷慨 (fervently generous), 宽厚 focuses on a forgiving, gentle nature. It also has a separate physical sense: 'broad and thick' (build) or 'deep and rich' (voice), which none of its near-synonyms share.
