Definition
宽阔 (kuān kuò) means 'wide, expansive' for physical spaces (roads, fields) and 'broad-minded' for abstract qualities. It is more formal and literary than the common 宽 (kuān), and emphasizes openness rather than just width. Unlike 广阔 (guǎng kuò), which stresses vastness over a large area, 宽阔 can also convey a sense of roominess.
