Definition
宾 is a bound form (不成词语素), meaning it cannot stand alone as a word—it must combine with another character to form a compound. Its two main uses are in words meaning 'guest' (宾客, 宾馆) and in linguistic terms meaning 'object' (宾语, the grammatical object of a verb). You'll never use 宾 by itself in a sentence.
