Definition
对付 has two main uses: (1) to deal with a problem or difficult person — similar to 应付 but often implies handling something tough; 处 (chǔ) is more formal and literary. (2) to make do or get by — similar to 凑合 (making do with what's available) and 混 (muddling through, more negative).
