寺庙 (sìmiào) is a general, everyday word for a Buddhist or Taoist temple. It combines 寺 (sì), which alone often refers to a Buddhist temple or mosque, and 庙 (miào), which alone can refer to a Taoist temple or folk shrine — together it covers both traditions. 丛林 (cónglín) is a more specialized, literary term for a large Chan/Zen monastery, not used for ordinary temples.
