Definition
射 (shè) is a versatile verb meaning to shoot (arrows, bullets) or to launch (rockets, satellites), and also to allude to in speech. 射击 (shè jī) is narrower, only 'to shoot a gun/fire a weapon'. 发射 (fā shè) is more formal and technical, used for launching rockets/satellites or emitting signals.
