尖 (jiān) is a broad word for 'sharp' across physical points, shrill sounds, and keen senses. For a blade or pointed criticism, 尖锐 (jiānruì) is more specific; for mental or sensory sharpness, use 敏锐 (mǐnruì) or 灵敏 (língmǐn); and for the physical tip, 尖 serves as a noun (while 尖端 also means 'cutting-edge').
